ರೂಪಾಯಿ, ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವದೇಶಿ:ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಬರೆವ ಅಂಕಣ

ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯ ಅಪಮೌಲ್ಯ ಆಗ್ತಾ ಆಗ್ತಾ ಅದ್ರ ಬೆಲೆ ಅರವತ್ತೆಂಟು ದಾಟಾಯ್ತು.. ಇನ್ನಾದ್ರೂ ನಾವು ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಮನೆಗೊಂದು ಕಾರು, ತೆಲೆಗೊಂದು ಬೈಕು ಅಂತ ಜುಂ ಜಾಮಾಗಿರೋ ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮೀ ವೈಭವದಿಂದಲೇ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ದರ ಗಗನಕ್ಕೇರಿರೋದು ಅಂತಲೂ ತಿಳೀತಿಲ್ಲ. ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಬೆಲೆ ಏನಾದ್ರಾಗ್ಲಿ, ಅದ್ರಿಂದ ಡಾಲರ್ ದರ ಅರವತ್ತಲ್ಲ ನೂರು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದ್ರೂ ನಮಗೇನು ಅಂದ್ರಾ ? ಡಾಲರ್ ದರ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದಷ್ಟೂ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳಿಗೆ, ರಫ್ತು ಮಾಡೋರಿಗೆ ಲಾಭವೇ ಅಲ್ವಾ ? ದೇಶಕ್ಕೇನಾದ್ರೆ ನಮಗೇನು ಅಂದ್ರಾ ? ! ರಫ್ತೆಂದರೆ ಚೀನಾದಂತೆ ಬೇಕಾಬಿಟ್ಟಿ ವ್ಯವಹಾರವಲ್ಲ, ಅಗ್ಗದ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಚೀನಾದವ್ರೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆ ಕಸದಂತೆ ತಂದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೂ ತಂದು ಸುರಿತಿರುವಾಗ, ಕೂಲಿಯಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಕಚ್ಚಾವಸ್ತುಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲದರ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿದ್ರೂ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಕಾದುಕೊಳ್ಳೋ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯತೆಯಿರೋ ಭಾರತೀಯ ರಫ್ತು ಉದ್ಯಮಕ್ಕೂ ಹೊಡೆತ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅದ್ರೆ ಮಧ್ಯ ಕೊಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆಯೋ ಹೊರದೇಶಗಳ ನೂರಾರು ಕಾನೂನುಗಳು ಬೇರೆ…ಅದೆಲ್ಲಾ ದೊಡ್ಡ ತಲೆ ನೋವು ಅಂದ್ರಾ ? ಸರಿ, ಹೋಗ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡಿ. ಅದಿರ್ಲಿ, ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರ್ತಾ ಇದ್ರೂ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಬೆಲೆ ಇಳಿತಾ ಇದ್ರೂ ಘನ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಏನು ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಇದೆ ಅಂತ ಬೊಬ್ಬೆ ಹಾಕೋ ಬದ್ಲು ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಏನಾದ್ರೂ ಮಾಡ್ಬಹುದಾ ಅಂತ್ಯಾಕೆ ಯೋಚ್ನೆ ಮಾಡ್ಬಾರ್ದು ?

ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿಕೆ ಮುಂಚೆ ಇಂದಲೂ ಇದ್ದಿದ್ದೆ. ನಮಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಬೇಕಾಬಿಟ್ಟಿ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ಗೆ ಅರಬ್ ದೇಶಗಳ ಹತ್ರ ಮಾನ ಮೂರಾಬಟ್ಟೆ ಮಾಡ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬೇಡೋದೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. LPG (Liberalisation Privatisation Globalisation) ಗೆ ಸಹಿ ಹಾಕೋ ಮೊದ್ಲು ದೇಶ ದಿವಾಳಿಯಾಗೋ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಬಂದು ಲೋಡುಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಬಂಗಾರ ತೆತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿಂದ ಸಾಲ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದ ಮರೆಯೋದು ಹ್ಯಾಗೆ ? ೨೦೦೨-೦೩ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತೀ ಭಾರತೀಯನ ತಲೆ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಸಾಲ ೪೮೬೪. ಈಗ ಅದು ಮೂವತ್ಮೂರು ಸಾವಿರ! ಸಿರಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ದಂಗೆಯ ಭಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ದರ ಏರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅದರ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ದರ ಏರುತ್ತಿದೆ, ಡಾಲರ್ ಎದುರು ಯೂರೂವಿನಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕರೆನ್ಸಿಗಳೂ ಕಂಗಾಲಾಗಿವೆ ಅನ್ನೋ ನೂರು ಕಾರಣಗಳಿರಬಹುದು. ಆದ್ರೆ ಅವೆಲ್ಲಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿರೋದು ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾತ್ರ. ನಾನೇನು ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ತಜ್ಞನಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ರೆ ಟೀವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ತಜ್ಞರು ಹೇಳೋವಂತ ಒಂದು ವಾರ ದೇಶದ ಐಶಾರಾಮಿ ಕಾರು, ಬೈಕುಗಳ ಬಳಕೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅದರ ಬದಲು ಸಾಮಜಿಕ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಬಳಸಿದರೆ ಡಾಲರ್ ದರ ಅರವತ್ತಲ್ಲ ಮೂವತ್ತರ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿಯುತ್ತೆ ಅನ್ನೋ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವೂ ಹುರುಳಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಅನಿಸುತೆ. ರಪ್ತು ಕಮ್ಮಿ ಆಗಿ ಆಮದು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿರೋದ್ರಿಂದಲೇ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯ ಕಡ್ಮೆಯಾಗಿರೋದು ಅನ್ನೋ ಒಂದು ಸರಳ ಸತ್ಯವೆಂತೂ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ತೀನಿ. ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ದುಡ್ಡು ಹರಿದುಹೋಗ್ತಿರೋದು ಬರೀ ಆಮದಿನಿಂದಲ್ಲ, ಭ್ರಷ್ಟರ ಸ್ವಿಸ್ ಅಕೌಂಟಿನಲ್ಲಲ್ಲ ನಮ್ಮದೇ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯದ ಸೋಪು, ಬ್ರಷ್ಷು ಮಾರಿ ದಿನಾ ದಿನಾ ದುಡ್ಡನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಗಿಸ್ತಿರೋ ವಿದೇಶಿ ಬಹುರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕಂಪೆನಿಗಳಿಂದ!!

ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಪೈಸೆ ಖರ್ಚಾಗೋ ಪೆಪ್ಸೀನ ೧೨ ರೂಪಾಯಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಮಾರ್ತಾನೊಬ್ಬ. ಅದ್ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಗಡಿಯವನ ಲಾಭ ೧-೨ ರೂ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮಧ್ಯವರ್ತಿ ಅವನ ಬಾಸು ಹೀಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೇರಿದ್ರೂ ಭಾರತೀಯರಿಗೆ ೩ರಿಂದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ರೂಪಾಯಿ ದಕ್ಕಿದ್ರೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು. ಎಳಿದ ೮ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ?? ಹೋಯ್ತಲ್ಲ ಕೋಕಾ ಜೇಬಿಗೆ, ಅದ್ರ ಬದ್ಲು ಯಾವ್ದಾದ್ರೂ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಜ್ಯೂಸೋ, ನಿಂಬೂ ಪಾನಿಯೋ, ಎಳನೀರೋ ಕುಡಿದ್ರೆ ? ! ಊಹೂಂ. ಆಗಲ್ಲ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ. ಬಡ ಭಾರತೀಯ ರೈತನ್ನ ಯಾಕೆ ಬದುಕಿಸ್ಬೇಕು ನಾವು ? ಆ ಬಡ ರೈತ ಬೆಳೆದ ಎಳನೀರನ್ನ ೭ ರೂಗೆ ತಂದು ಹದಿನೈದಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರೋ ಎಳನೀರು ಅಂಗಡಿಯವನಿಗೆ ಯಾಕೆ ದುಡ್ಡು ತೆತ್ತಬೇಕು ? ಭಾರತೀಯನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಐದಾರು ರೂ ಲಾಭ ಆದ್ರೆ.. ಊಹೂಂ. ಸಹಿಸೋಕ್ಕಾಗಲ್ಲ ನಮ್ಗೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ. ರೈತನೋ, ಅಂಗಡಿಯವನೋ, ಅವ್ನೋ, ನಾವೋ.. ಒಟ್ಟು ನಾವು ದುಡಿದ ದುಡ್ಡು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೇ ಉಳಿಯತ್ತೆ ತಾನೆ. ಹೈ ಫೈ ಆಗಿರ್ಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನೋ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕೋಕೆ ಬೇಕೆ ? ಮೂರು ರೂ ನಿಂಬೆಹಣ್ಣು ತಂದು ಹತ್ತು ರೂ ನಿಂಬೂ ಪಾನಿ ಕೊಡೋ ಅಂಗಡಿಯವನದು ಮಹಾ ಮೋಸದಂತೆ, ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರೇ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಜ್ಯೂಸ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಡೋ ಅಂಗಡಿಯವನದು ವ್ಯವಹಾರಕೋರತನವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣೋ ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿದೇಶಿ ಕಂಪೆನಿಗಳ ಮಾಜಾ, ಮಿರಿಂಡಾಗಳದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಾಜಾ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ರಸ!! ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ತೊಂದ್ರೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಪೈಸಾ ಪೈಸಾ ದೋಚ್ತಾ ಇರುವಾಗ ತೆಪ್ಪಗಿರೋ ನಮಗೆ, ಹೈ ಫೈ ಭೂತ ಹಿಡಿದು ಹೆತ್ತ ತಾಯಿನಾಡ ದೋಚ್ತಾ ಇರೋದೂ ಅರಿವಾಗದ ಮೂರ್ಖರಿಗೆ ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಗೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾದೀತು ? ಸ್ವದೇಶೀ ಆಂದೋಲನದ ಆಜಾದ್ ದೀಕ್ಷಿತರ ನೆನಪಾಗ್ತಿದೆ. ನಾನು ಸಣ್ಣವನಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಊರು ಕಡೆ ಮನೆ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ವಿದೇಶೀ ಯಾವ್ದು, ಸ್ವದೇಶೀ ಯಾವ್ದು ಅಂತ ಕರಪತ್ರ ಹಂಚಿದ್ದು , ಆ ಸ್ವದೇಶೀ ವಿದೇಶಿಗಳ ಲಿಸ್ಟು ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನವರೆಗೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯ ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕೂತ ನೆನಪು. ೯೦-೯೫ರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸ್ವದೇಶೀ ಕಂಪೆನಿಗಳೂ, ಅವುಗಳ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅದೆಷ್ಟೋ ಮುಚ್ಚಿಯೇ ಹೋಗಿರಬಹುದು. ಆದರೂ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹಲವಿವೆ. ಹಲ್ಲುಜ್ಜೋಕೆ ಇದ್ದಿಲು ಪುಡೀನೋ, ಕಲ್ಲುಪ್ಪೋ ಬಳಸಿ ಅಂತ ಹೇಳ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ವಿದೇಶೀ ಡೆಂಟು ಗೇಟುಗಳ ಬದ್ಲು ನೀಮ್, ಅಜಂತಾ, ಡಾಬರ್, ಹಿಮಾಲಯ.. ಹೀಗೆ ಯಾವ್ದಾದ್ರೂ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಕಂಪನೀದು ಬಳಸಿ ಅಂತ ಅಷ್ಟೆ. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಬ್ರಾಂಡುಗಳ್ಯಾವ್ದು ಅಂತ ಹುಡುಕೋದು ಇಂಟರ್ನೆಟ್ಟಿನ ಈ ಜಮಾನಾದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀರಾ ಕಷ್ಟವೇನಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೂ ಇಷ್ಟವಿರೋರಿಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಲೇಖನದ ಕೊನೆಗೊಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅದನ್ನ ನೋಡ್ತಾ ಹೋದ್ರೆ ದಂಗಾಗುತ್ತೆ. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಹೆಸರಾದ ಅನ್ನಪೂರ್ಣ ಉಪ್ಪು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಕಂಪೆನಿದಲ್ಲ. ಇನ್ನು ಹೆಸರಲ್ಲೇ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುವಂತಿರೋ ಸಿಬಾಕಾ, ಆಮ್ ವೇ, ಓರಲ್ ಬಿ, ಡೆಂಟು, ಗೇಟುಗಳು ಮೊದಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿನವಲ್ಲ. ಸುಮ್ನೇ ಒಂದ್ಸಲ ಆ ಪಟ್ತೀನ ಕಣ್ಣಾಡಿಸಿ ..ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುತ್ತೆ.. ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಒತ್ತಾಯ ಮಾಡೋಕಾಗಲ್ಲ. ಭವ್ಯ ಭಾರತದ ದಿವ್ಯ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳು ನಾವು.. ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಏನಾದರೂ ಏಳದ ದಿವ್ಯ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯದ ನಿದ್ದೆ ನಮ್ಮದು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ದೇಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಂತಲ್ಲ. ಕನಿಷ್ಟ ಪಕ್ಷ ನಾವು ಕಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟು ದುಡಿದ ದುಡ್ಡು ನಮ್ಮ ಭವ್ಯ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲೇ ಉಳಿಯೋ ಹಾಗೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳೋದು, ತೀರಾ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದ ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಂತ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಬದಲು ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸೋದು .. ಹೀಗೆ ಕನಿಷ್ಟ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ, ಈ ಸಂದಿಗ್ದದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರತೀ ನಾಗರೀಕನ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವನ್ನಾದ್ರೂ ಮಾಡಬಹುದಲ್ಲವೇ ? ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮಾತೇಕೆ ? ಸುಂದರ ಭಾರತದ ಕಟ್ಟಾಳುಗಳು ನಾವು. ಅದರ ನಾಳೆಯ ದಿನಗಳು ಚಿನ್ನದಂತಿರಬೇಕೋ ಅಥವಾ ಚಿನ್ನ ಮಾರೋ ದಿವಾಳಿಯ ಅಂಚಿಗೆ ಸಾಗಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನೋ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ನಮಗೇ ಮತ್ತು ನಾವು ಆ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳೋ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು.

ನಿಜ… ಈಗಿನ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲದಕ್ಕೂ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೇನೂ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲದಕ್ಕೂ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಹೊಣೆ ಅಲ್ಲ, ನಾವು ಕೂಡ. ದೇಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎ೦ಬ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಯಾರಲ್ಲೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಇದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಮುನ್ನುಗ್ಗುವ ಧೈರ್ಯ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕಾಲೆಳೆಯುವವರೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚು. ದೇಶ ಏನೋ ಒ೦ದು ಆಗತ್ತೆ. ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೆ ನಮಗೆ ಆಗುವುದು ತಾನೆ ಎ೦ಬ ಮನೋಭಾವ.

Rupee value does not depreciate because of our foreign goods usage but due to bad and mismanagement of economy for the last 10+ years by congress and those systemic problems need to be eradicated first. Consumers are last in the chain and these changes are good and bring minimal changes.
Please understand we live in a global village. Quality and cost are the prime essence for a consumer to try and buy. Indian goods at their price points are not very quality concious and hence people opt for foreign brands – local producers need to understand and price their products appropreiatly.
There are few people who buy foregin things for show off – this article apply to them. Why should indian producers charge on par with foreign goods while the quality and input costs are low? Tell me why are all ayurvedic tooth pastes are on par with imported tooth pastes?
People, go out and elect the proper govt first and then do this job next.

Hi Mohan,
First of all thanks a lot for your reply 🙂
1) I am not saying that only usage of foriegn goods is causing Rupee depreciation. Just saying that it is one of the reasons. If you are getting a Desi Drink at 10 and Foriegn brand at 12, why go for foriegn ? If India's don't care for India and use Indian goods, then who else will use it ? I am not saying alll people are like that, just saying why we should be like that ?
2)I am not a fan of party which ruled for 60 years and still in power. I am not at all ignoring all the money eaten by them and scams caused by them. Just saying that we have been blaming them 60 years, still blaming ? did they changed ? If no, then why waste time in blaming them? Lets take some stpes to correct ourselves.
3)We should elect proper government first. –> I agree100%. But don't agree to latter part of sentence >> and then do this job next. << . In my openion, nothing is first or second here. To start something good, we need not wait till next elections . I say i will vote for good. you may also vote for good. But who knows how money, drinks, casts play a dirty role and again corrupt people get elected. Lets hope this does not repeat in this election though.

4)Last but not the least, i also said about improper life style, irresponsible attitude of us leading to oil price hike and Rupee depreciation. One can not deny the fact that Indian Rupee does not depreciate due to oil price hike. If you do not agree to that also, please go through the links i provided for details. I am just narrating the facts.I am not saying these are the only reasons. Corrupt government and hundred of other reasons can be there. But what i meant to tell was, enough of scolding thousand people for hundreads of things which are not right. Lets take one or two steps atleast and try to set the things right ourself. It is better to light a lamp than cursing darkness. 🙂
